Company Director

To be a Company Director requires a person to not just possess certain qualities, but to actually live them in their day to day business dealings.

A Company Director must have current knowledge of the law; of company practice, environmental standards, employment obligations, financial systems and procedures, people management, marketing and business development, operational management, logistics and supply. While a professional Company Director may have a level of “super skills” in any one area, they also need a general foundation of knowledge across all aspects of business. This knowledge comes not just from experience, but also from formal and continuing education as well as professional and personal development.

A professional Company Director also needs courage, fortitude, sound ethics, principles and values to manage according to the company code of behaviour. This personal ethical foundation encompasses all aspects of one’s business decisions. Along with this is the integrity to act for the good of the business and for the benefits of shareholders. Not just profit motive or value growth, but success of the business encompassing all aspects of the business.
